Our congratulations go to the following schools, who were selected as winners and runners-up by our judging panel. The winners will each receive a visit from either a Team GB or ParalympicsGB athlete, and the runners-up will receive a pack of Team GB and ParalympicsGB goodies.
Winner: St Helens College (Hillingdon)
St Helens College focussed on their memories of London 2012 including memorabilia, tickets, venue maps, mascots and their own special 2012 sports medals. The students made a DVD film about the Olympic and Paralympic Values within their school, and each child wrote a 'postcard to the future' so that the students who open the time capsule may read a personalised message from a student of the past. The main message of their time capsule is Get Set for the future and Rio 2016!.
Winner: Uckfield Community Technology College (East Sussex)
Uckfield Community Technology College students have created their time capsule and displayed it in the school reception, until April 2013 when it is going to be buried. In addition to that, the students are also creating their own virtual time capsule and storing it on the school system for all to see. They included items such as images from their Get Set festivals, completing their 'Values' work within lessons, the school's alternative Torch Relay, memories of their Guard of Honour visit to the Olympic Park, the Get Set song, poster and flag design from in-school competitions and sound clips of quotes from students.
Runner-Up: Acton Primary School (Suffolk)
Runner-Up: Binstead Primary School (Hampshire)
Runner-Up: Hartford High School (Cheshire)
Runner-Up: Park House Academy (West Berkshire)
Runner-Up: Regis Manor School (Kent)
Look out for our new competition in January, with lots more exciting prizes for Get Set schools to win.
