We celebrated the Olympic Day week and NSSW at our school and at home.
The week kicked off with children learning about togetherness, inclusivity and wellbeing. They made their own games making sure everyone was included. We learnt about the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Our pupils designed their own Olympic Torches and we had a Virtual Torch Relay. They also created their own workouts inspired by Olympians workout on the Olympic Day.
Our pupils had a go at the Radio Taiso, our Y1 especially love the movements. They learnt how to play Kendama. They made their own version of the game. We hosted our own Torriano Mini Olympic and Paralympic Games 2020 with 15 bubbles taking part and many children at home. Children played games they previously created and celebrated the power of sport to bring people together. They received a message from Melita Emmanuel-Carr, GB basketball player, who inspired them to work hard and have dedication.
