Our first Google Hangout got off to a fantastic start as pupils from Great Ouseburn Community Primary School and Upperthong Junior and Infant School had the chance to virtually meet Olympian Richard Hounslow and Paralympian Ali Jawad from the comfort of their own classrooms!

Richard Hounslow won silver in the men’s canoe double at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and Paralympian Ali Jawad holds the British, European and World Records in the 59kg class in Powerlifting.

The pupils had a great time getting to know Richard and Ali and asked lots of interesting questions, including the sort of training they do, who inspired them to become athletes and what type of diets they follow.
