Get Set for Positive Energy!

St Dominic Savio Catholic School, Wokingham

St Dominic Savio pupil James' entry blew us away with its creativity, winning the school:

  • a £5,000 grant from British Gas.
  • An outdoor banner displaying their pupil's artwork.
  • Plus, a visit from ParalympicsGB athlete Blaine Hunt and Team GB's Amber Rutter to present the awards.

Our panel of judges loved the bold and eye-catching design, along wit the interesting, colourful imagery included, noting: 'this poster clearly explains how everyone can reduce energy usage in our day-to-day lives.' Well done to James at at Dominic Savio Catholic School!

Let’s hear it too for our 25 runners-up!

Here’s what just some of our runners up plan on doing with their £500 grant..

Maldon Court Prep School – “There has been discussion of creating an eco-garden in the school or perhaps a woodland/forest school area for students to enjoy. We are quite a small school located in a residential area with limited space, so creating a dedicated green space for the students would be ideal!”

Shinfield Infant and Nursery School – “We have decided to use the money to create some raised beds alongside a part of our building to create a natural barrier from the heat and flooding we get at the edge of the building. We will plant a variety of species including some small fruit trees.”

Finally, we want to keep the applause going for every school that entered. The standard was incredibly high, and the judges were amazed by the energy-saving ideas your bright sparks came up with!
