FAQs
What is Get Set for Milan?
Get Set for Milan is Team GB and ParalympicsGB's official Milano Cortina 2026 activity programme for schools, families and local communities. It’s designed to help children and their families get active together, try new things, and most importantly, have fun. It’s all about team spirit and building a habit of physical activity.
Children across the country are challenged to make a virtual journey between all the major sporting venues of Milano Cortina 2026, following our Team GB and ParalympicsGB athletes as they make the trip in real life. Teachers, group leaders and families create teams, then everyone gets active at home, in school, or at local sport and community groups, logging their physical activity on the Get Set for Milan website where each active minute becomes virtual kilometres powering the team from Milano to Cortina.
At each Games venue, you’ll meet Team GB and ParalympicsGB athletes to discover an interesting fact about the venue you have reached. With loads of motivational activities and videos, young people will be inspired to get moving to make sure their bus gets to Cortina in time for the Games!
Who is it for?
Get Set for Milan is primarily aimed at children aged 5-11 and their families, but don’t let that stop you from getting involved! Anyone can take part and log their activity online, but only primary school aged children in the UK and their families will be eligible for offers, rewards and incentives.
How can I get involved?
Get Set for Milan is all about team spirit, so participants travel in teams. Teachers, group leaders and parents become ‘Team Leaders’, and once registered with Get Set, can create teams via the Get Set for Milan website. A unique pin number will be generated which you can use to find your teams (make sure to share this and the team name with team members).
Young people can then get active at school, in their community or with family. Dancing in the kitchen, video workouts in the lounge, walking in the park or playing tag - it all counts towards your journey from Milano to Cortina. After getting active, participants can log their activity to their team via the website, using their team pin. Every minute logged will automatically be converted into virtual kilometres, powering teams from Milano to Cortina. Progress can be tracked via the Team Tracker page or the Dashboard.
How do I find my team?
Go to Find your Team using your pin and team name. If you don't know your pin number, search for your school, club or activity group's postcode. If it doesn’t come up, you will need to contact us at getset@getset.co.uk.
How do I log my activity?
Go to the Log Activity page and find your team using your pin or team name.
First, add the number people who took part with you.
Next, select the type of activity that you did (if it doesn’t fit into any of the categories, just choose “Other” and you’ll be able to describe what you did).
Finally, tell us whether you enjoyed it, how long it lasted and how hard you worked. You’re then ready to submit your activity towards your journey to Cortina.
If any of the sections are unclear, you can click the (i) icons for extra information and tips.
What is the team tracker?
The Team Tracker is where you can track your progress to Cortina. Remember, the more active your team is the more digital badges you’ll unlock – 10 active sessions unlocks one digital badge.
You can also view your team stats: the totals of all the activities recorded for your team, including how long an average activity lasts, how much people tend to enjoy activities and how hard they work. It helps you see what activities are popular and what new things people could try.
Can I edit / change teams?
Only Team Leaders (teachers, parents, community group leaders) registered on Get Set are set up to modify teams. There is no limit to the number of teams you can set up, and you can add, edit, deactivate and reactivate teams. You can also transfer the team to another registered Get Set user if you no longer wish to be a Team Leader.
All your teams will be displayed on your Dashboard, and each team will have its own Team Tracker showing their progress towards Cortina and the combined activity of all team members.
Once you have registered with Get Set and created your teams, you can edit your team details via the Manage Teams page.
What is the dashboard?
The Dashboard tracks your team’s stats as it makes its journey from Milano to Cortina. If you've set up multiple teams, use the Dashboard to monitor combined progress: total kilometers per team, overall activity and distance, average session length, enjoyment levels, and workout intensity. It shows popular activities and suggests new ones to try. You can also view a list of all teams and access each Team Tracker.
Will there be rewards?
We want to encourage schools, community groups and families to keep active together. As such, we’ll award prizes to active teams through three prize draws where we randomly select winners for:
Prize draw 1 - creating a team
Prize draw 2 - logging first activity
Prize draw 3 - completing the journey
Each winning team member will receive an athlete visit*. So get moving, build new active habits and have fun!
*Please see the Terms and Conditions for more information.
What happens when I reach Cortina?
Teams travel at their own pace towards Cortina, so will reach the town at different times. Teams that reach Cortina before the Games can continue logging activity to unlock digital badges. To collect all badges and complete the full trophy, teams need to log 100 unique sessions, so keep coming back and logging more activity!
Teams can track their progress on their Team Dashboard via their digital badges, which will show how many they've unlocked, and their Distance Tracker, which will record their total distance travelled in kilometres.
How is distance calculated?
The distance logged towards Cortina varies based on activity length, number and frequency of activities, and whether you got active with your family. It's calculated automatically.
I have moved to a different school, what do I do?
No problem!
If you’re a teacher, you can just register with your new school email address to access all the Get Set and Get Set for Milan resources. There is, unfortunately, no way to change the email address associated with an account. Make sure you assign a new teacher as the team leader for your previous group/school so that they can continue their journey.
If you’re a pupil, just check if your school is participating in Get Set for Milan and enter your new school’s pin code (or alternatively your school postcode) on this page, select your team and you can start logging your activity.
Who are the Get Set for Milan ambassadors?
We’re very lucky to have two fantastic athlete ambassadors supporting the programme: Team GB athlete Eve Muirhead (curling) and Paralympian Millie Knight (para alpine skiing). Log activity regularly and your team could be in with a chance of winning a shout out or a visit from one of these or other sports stars!
