A Special Visit for Huntingdon Summer Club from Mel Clarke!

Barracudas Summer Camp in Huntingdon received a special visit last week from Paralympic archer, Mel Clarke.

The children had the exciting opportunity to take part in some archery sessions with Mel, as well as a Q&A where they got to ask her questions about her journey to becoming a Paralympian, her training, and what it felt like to win a medal at the Games.

Mel’s visit was hugely inspirational and having the opportunity to hold her Olympic Torch and Silver medal was a tangible reminder to the children of what can be achieved with hard work and dedication! Barracudas told us that the children felt like "they weren't just meeting a sports star; they were meeting a role model". You can read more about their experience here.

Thank you to Barracudas for sharing these lovely photos from Mel's visit with us.

Getting Inspired

Annie David from St Thomas' C.E. Primary School in Stockton Heath recently brought her Dad's cycling medal into school to inspire her teammates from Year 3 on their Path to Paris. Annie's Dad completed the 215km Dragon Ride, inspiring Annie to log some extra miles on her bike last weekend!

Annie is determined for her team, Year 3, to reach Paris first. Keep up the hard work and you'll be there very soon!
