ADVANCED PARALYMPIC MOVEMENT PRESENTATION (Secondary)

This PowerPoint reminds students of the spectacle of the London 2012 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony, highlights the remarkable achievements of our disabled athletes and then describes the amazing journey that the Paralympic Movement has travelled since the pioneering work of Dr Ludwig Guttmann at Stoke Mandeville hospital after the Second World War.

EXTENSION

Both presentations are designed to be flexible and slides can be used selectively to explore the history of the Paralympic Movement, to encourage wider discussion of the treatment of persons with impairments in society, or to introduce the Paralympic Inspiration or A Paralympic Legacy activities.
